There was a constant parade of pelicans diving for lunch. They were surprisingly lucky.

A View to Paradise

The two cabins pictured are some of our favorite. We didn't get to stay in them this time, perhaps next time.

Jamaican Coconut Water for Sale

If you can get them, and they are everywhere around Great Bay, Jamaica, the Coconut water is excellent, I couldn't get enough. The knowledge of everyone we met of the herbs, fruits and "ground provisions" that would cure any ailment was truly staggering.

Untrimmed Rebar

It is interesting that often when I travel, I encounter untrimmed rebar. It is shocking what we take for granted in our daily lives, but also how fast we can get used to changed conditions.

The Bar at Jake's was super fun, both the guests and the bartenders had spectacular and interesting stories.

This carving dominated the back porch at Hope House, at every time of day he looked different.

Stairway to Heaven

The decor at all the rooms, cabins, and villas at Jake's were both beautiful and a constant reminder of our obligation to our fellow humans as well as the Earth. We are only caretakers for the next generation.

The stairs here looked like a crocodile. They actually do have crocs here.

This is a large store, they had everything in here, but mostly I was looking for Red Stripe.

Endless Riches

The soil here was so rich in iron that everywhere you turned the soil was red. It leads to incredibly nutritious "ground provisions".

Fork in the Road

The view reminded me that every place in the world can take control of their ecological footprint. Jamaica is not slacking in this regard, people here are very aware of nature and the changes that have been occurring as the climate warms.
