Hunting Darkness
With a storm rapidly approaching and freezing temperatures outside, we started exploring this decommissioned train tunnel.
As soon as I entered the tunnel, a sense of sublime terror took hold, and I knew I had to shoot quickly. The ice floor was anything but stable, giving and creaking disconcertingly with every step, caught between the raging storm outside and the fraught peace inside the tunnel, I chose the fraught peace. My curiosity and the natural beauty drove me on.
My finger was actually freezing to the shutter button as I took this shot; with so many conflicting emotions driving me to focus on the distant openings in an effort to not think about the risk present in every step where I was.
