Slavery
I wanted to work on a still-life and as I passed this fruit that was slowly rotting, I thought both about all the enslaved people that it took to bring fruit like this into colonial North America.
I also considered the condition of slavery that mankind finds itself in to death, who inevitably holds their leash.
